I am the founder and Global Director of the echo network. I also serve through the echo network’s international hub as Special Scientific Envoy to India with the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences (ATV) in close collaboration with the Danish Innovation Center in India (under the auspices of the MFA and the MHER).
We developed a citizen science program called “I am OneHealth” that leveraged the power of student ambassadors and local experts in a city-wide citizen science program to provide direct information to a surveillance dashboard on local environmental conditions. The data was collected using a very simple WhatsApp chatbot we created for this pilot and did not require any specific application or third-party software. This effort increased capacities and raised awareness on the impacts of climate and environment on health, as well as provided increased community partnership between government and citizens.

"This workshop aims to upskill teachers and Climate Change Education (CCE) practitioners on how to integrate emotional regulation into climate education. By helping students manage emotions like fear, frustration, or sadness, teachers can foster resilience and hope, enabling students to act as change agents. Emotions like empathy, compassion, and a sense of agency can motivate positive environmental behaviors.
Practical strategies for teachers include creating a safe space for open dialogue where students can express their concerns and feelings. Encouraging collaborative projects that focus on solutions, such as community-based environmental initiatives, can also help students feel empowered. Another key practice is introducing mindfulness techniques, such as deep breathing or reflection exercises, to help students cope with feelings of overwhelm. Storytelling that highlights positive climate action can shift the focus from crisis to hope, ensuring that students leave the classroom inspired rather than disheartened.
By equipping students with both knowledge and emotional resilience, teachers play a vital role in shaping the next generation of climate-conscious citizens."

Inclusive Climate Education: Understanding that "'One year of schooling increases climate awareness by 9%', finds a new World Bank Education Report of 2024 that explores how education is one of our most powerful tools in the fight against climate change. Children, youth and women with disabilities are most excluded from the education system and thus, constitute one of the most disproportionately affected vulnerable communities by climate change adverse impacts. Education empowers, equips, and skills people for climate mitigation, adaptation, and resilience. At the same time, climate change-induced heat and extreme weather events are significantly disrupting learning, and low-income countries and vulnerable communities are disproportionately affected. The world must act now to adapt education systems for climate change. Our formal and informal knowledge systems must be inclusive and universally accessible to ensure we 'leave no one behind' in climate action (SDG 10 and 13)."

“We are the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last generation that can do something about it.” The given quote by a renowned personality resonated a lot with the team Planet Saviours and therefore led us develop a game around it in order to deliver the message in a manner that would be welcomed by many. A key feature of the game is the introduction of implementing sustainable methods and making the earth a better place to live in. In the beginning of the game, each player will be provided a certain amount of money by the virtual bank. This money will help them survive the game and pay for the penalties for their actions which lead to hampering the climate. The penalties will help them realize and learn more about the ways in which they can use sustainable methods in day-to-day life. While the game is in progress, the players can take promissory notes and virtual money from the bank to pay for their debts. This money they will have to return back at the end of the game.
